I got myself Windows XP. After two years with Windows 2000 I needed something new. The UI has improved much. If there is anywhere some category “Sexy OS” then Win XP surely falls into this one. Some people don’t like the new UI. Well, it is unconventional – at least for Windows users. Mac users are used to smooth forms in a nice UI. Since Microsoft copied many things that were first seen on the Mac, it’s no surprise they finally made a better UI for Windows
That’s about the UI, but what with the things behind the make-up? It gives you experiences – as the slogan says – and adventures. One thing you may experience – if your hardware is not too exotic – is a really easy and fast setup. The adventures come afterward. The adventures is the search for the features you got used to on Windows 2000. "Where is the shitty Management Console?" and "That can be true! There must be a way to make file-access settings based on users and groups and not only : all or no one?" are only two chapters in this not too short story.
Obviously Windows XP is a treatment against boredom
